Overview
The 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) concluded on 22 October, 2022, with President Xi Jinping remaining in power for an unprecedented third term. The new core leadership team is expected to be more Xi-centric.
While other countries are opening up, China will adhere to its Dynamic Zero-COVID policy to safeguard the health and safety of its people. The Chinese government will continue to prioritize economic and social development, and has set state goals to achieve "high quality growth", "green transformation" and "common prosperity".
On the tech front, China has set sight on becoming the global tech frontier in R&D. Its green push is also a key highlight for tech companies, as the government plans to accelerate R&D and application of advanced energy-saving and carbon emission reduction technologies, as well as promoting clean, low-carbon, and high-efficiency energy use
